SELEP welcomes work experience student

Lily Martin, Year 10 work experience student, Boswells SchoolLast week we welcomed Lily into the South East LEP team for her year 10 work experience placement from Boswells School. Given our role in skills and talent development in the South East it was great to have Lily in the team working with us.

We worked with Lily introducing her to the diverse workload of the LEP. Amy worked with colleagues to pull together a varied work programme:

As well as Lily’s own work and involvement in meetings with colleagues Lily sat with colleagues to better understand the scope of their work.

It has been a great week working with Lily, seeing first-hand the importance of working in partnership with our local schools and encouraging the work force of tomorrow to take an interest in the skills that will support them in their education choices and career development .

“I’ve really enjoyed working with the SELEP team. The experience has been very useful and has given me a lots of experience of working.”

“It was great to have Lily join us for a and a privilege to play a small part in helping build Lily’s future. As a LEP we are passionate about skills and talent on our patch. We really enjoyed working so closely with a student towards shaping their future, even if it was just in a tiny way. She worked hard and gave a fresh perspective on the way we work. All the best to you Lily!”
Adam Bryan, Managing Director, South East LEP

Most importantly – thank you Lily and good luck with all your future endeavours!
